Test seasons out of season
Seasonal Easter eggs appear automatically according to your browser's local calendar. To test one immediately, you can force a season:
The natural schedule is: April 1, Halloween in October, Christmas from December 1 to 26, New Year from December 28 to January 2, and Easter from Easter Sunday through the following six days. The preview and the date calculation use your browser's local time zone.
01 · EASTER EGG HUNT
Three eggs in the margins
Open /?season=easter and look for the three small symbols in the page margins:
- ◇ top left, at about 7 vw and 16 vh
- ◯ right, at about 8 vw and 39 vh
- ⬡ bottom left, at about 21 vw and 12 vh
Click all three of them. Found eggs turn fainter and smaller; once all are found, the bunny (\/) (•ㅅ•) (\/) appears and the button reads HOP.
Progress lives in sessionStorage under season-easter-eggs and season-easter-complete. Clear these entries to reset the hunt in the same browser session.
02 · BUNNY SHORTCUT
The secret word
In easter mode you can skip the hunt and simply type bunny. It completes the egg hunt instantly and triggers the same bunny animation.
03 · APRIL FOOLS
An AI with emotional bandwidth
On the first visit to /?season=april-fools in a session, AI-enhancing emotional bandwidth... appears with an intentionally fake loading bar. Afterward the page briefly flips upside down and switches to Comic Sans.
The intro state lives in sessionStorage under season-april-intro. Clear it to see the prank again. The footer also randomly shows one of three corporate slogans.
04 · APRIL FOOLS ESCAPE
The fleeing YOINK button
In April Fools mode, move a pointer over YOINK. On the first attempt the button dodges with NICE TRY. On the second attempt it surrenders with YOINK (I SURRENDER).
This only works with a non-touch pointer and is stored as season-april-dodge in sessionStorage. With reduced motion there is no dodging; it surrenders right away.
05 · HALLOWEEN
The ghost in the kaomoji
In Halloween mode you can press and hold the displayed kaomoji for 900 ms without moving the pointer away. Alternatively, typing boo works too.
The page flickers briefly, a ghost ～(つˆДˆ)つ｡☆ appears, and the countdown says BOO!. No further haunt starts during the 2.7-second scare. At midnight the footer also reads hold still... something is near.
06 · CHRISTMAS
Unwrapping the gift
Open /?season=christmas and click [ unwrap gift ] or type hohoho.
Then lights, falling holiday symbols, a Santa hat, and the gift gift: *<|:-) appear. The unwrapped state persists across season-christmas-unwrapped in sessionStorage.
07 · NEW YEAR
Fireworks at the turn of the year
In New Year mode the button counts down to midnight. You can click the countdown or type the upcoming target year to launch the fireworks immediately. At midnight they start automatically.
Four firework waves reveal (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ YEAR. The automatic celebration runs only once per year, stored in localStorage under season-new-year-YEAR. A click can still run it again. In a New Year preview outside of December or January, the countdown is only ten seconds in the future.
08 · EXPRESSIVENESS OVERLOAD
The secret rave
The rave works in any season, including with /?season=none. There are two triggers:
- Type the Konami code: ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A
- Click the footer exactly seven times
For ten seconds the background colors cycle, the kaomoji bounces and shifts color, and ☆, ♡, and ツ rain across the page. The footer shows ✦ EXPRESSIVENESS OVERLOAD ✦ meanwhile.
